Since 1980 Shared Medical Services (SMS) has been dedicated to providing first-class service and world-class diagnostic imaging equipment to facilities around the country. With SMS’ success over the past 25+ years, SMS has been able to provide expanded services utilizing equipment vendors such as GE Healthcare, Hitachi Medical Systems, Philips, Siemens, as well as others.

SMS started providing diagnostic imaging services with mobile Nuclear Medicine technology in 1980 and has been expanding into other imaging services ever since.

  • 1981 - Added CT
  • 1987 - Added Bone Densitometry and MRI
  • 2001 - Purchased GE Healthcare’s first mobile PET system
  • 2003 - Switched from PET to PET/CT by purchasing GE Healthcare’s first mobile PET/CT system
